Kingdom has been through many different Forms, like my old Batch Text-Adventure, then the one i worked on when i first opened this Blog, back in March i think? then i picked it up again, it failed because of a massive Instancing Bug which rippled through the Design.
But here is the original Idea i made when i first started Programming, it was when you had to keep a Town alive and surviving the Counter which created random events which corrupted your people and crops etc. Here it is!
…this list will grow as more ideas and implementations occur…
(Resources is sometimes called food… my mistake)
Aim of Game:
The Aim of the game is to make a Town which is well established and has a constant supply of Resources.
Shipments are based on a counter which randomises from 0 - 1000, the higher the count equals a higher amount of resources. the lower the count the more people will starve from lack of resources.
the enlighten the simulation there will be an invisible outer land where the resources come from. this is a feature which will explained more when the basic features are explained and created.
Townies are the people who live in the town and a reliant on the resources that are brought in by the shipments. they have basic AI which allows them to goto the shops and buy resource with the money they earn making their own resources. they will attempt to buy the right amount so they have a total of 5 food. but if they cannot afford the amount they will buy as much as they can with the money the have.
Townies consume 1 food per turn, you start with 10 Townies, so 10 food is consumed
when you start to play the game you will be asked to ams your town, afterwards you are directed to the game screen, with a list of stats including
then you will be given a menu where you can see the more advanced stats like
- house quality
- turns you have performed
you can then enter SKIP to go onto the next turn.
the shops are where the townies will collect their food from with the appropriate gold. the shop’s stock will grow if the shipments are good or if the shipments are low the shop will close. and the townies will have to resort to making their own resources from Farms.
the farms are where the townies will get produce from every 3 turns and will get a random produce (0 - 10).
the townies will (if they have enough) donate 1 money every 3 turns to increase the total of farms that the town has.
